The National Monuments Service's description
Clarke mentions the previous existence of a cairn known as Carn Uí Dúnchada, possibly erected by Uí Dúnchada in response to Viking pressure in the 9th-10th century (2002, 12). This was used as a municipal boundary marker. Not precisely located.
