Excavations in 1993 at the Green Building 23-24 Temple Lane 3-4 Crow Street uncovered c. 65 burials aligned E-W, with some evidence for coffins. These dated from the 13th-14th century. The burials post-dated a ditch (dims. Wth 5m-6.7m, D 1.7m) which contained the remains of 24 skeletons. Theywere in a crouched position and aligned N-S. A fragment of an iron knife was found beside one of the skeletons dated to the late 12th-mid 13th -century (Gowen 1994, 29).
