The National Monuments Service's description
Archaeological monitoring of a foundation trench at 4-5 High Street revealed evidence for 11th to mid 13th century activity (Murtagh 1989, 23-4). Features included a cesspit and post and wattle structure. Amongst the finds were bronze cloak pins, combs, knives, spearheads and nails. The pottery included wares from Dublin and SW of England.
