The National Monuments Service's description
In 1682 a timber bridge across the river Liffey near Charles Street was constructed to provide access to Ormond market. This was replaced by a stone bridge in 1684. It had five spans, formed by four stone arches and a timber drawbridge (De Courcey 1996, 281-283). It collapsed in 1902 and was never replaced.
