The National Monuments Service's description
St. Francis Gate on Francis Street, formerly situated at the S end of Francis Street. It is mentioned in a deed of 1529-34 which refers to it as one of the boundaries of the Liberty of St. Patrick's (McNeill 1950, 302; Bradley and King 1987, Vol. 1, 56; Clarke 2002, 22).
