The National Monuments Service's description
The Gothic mansion incorporated a portion of earlier fortifications at northeast end. Associated with the Anglo Norman family of Luttrells. In 1800 the Luttrell family sold the property to Luke White who changed the name to Woodlands and encased the castle in early 19th century Gothic. This large rectangular structure stands two storeys high over basement (ext. dims L c. 19m, Wth c. 10m). The E wall (T 1.58m) has a batter and rounded turrets on both external angles. Now part of Luttrellstown Golf Resort.
