The National Monuments Service's description

Named 'base of stone cross' on the OS 1840 edition map. This was located at the junction of three roads, at the S end of the Fair Green in Kilsallaghan Village. In his 18th-century diaries Austin Cooper describes this as the pedestal of a market cross (ed. Price, 1942, 42). No visible surface trace (Healy 1975, 23).
