The National Monuments Service's description

Geophysical survey (Licence no. 12R078) was undertaken by The Discovery Programme for the ‘Late Iron Age and “Roman” Ireland’ project, to investigate an enclosure identified on photogrammetry imagery in rough pasture to the NE of the summit of Knockbane. The oval enclosure (40m N-S x 35m E-W) has two low earthen banks adjoining it to the NE and SW. Geophysical survey identified a semi-circular arc about 8m in diameter, which adjoins or overlaps with the enclosure on the E. (Dowling 2014, 13).
