The National Monuments Service's description
Listed in the Dublin RMP as an ‘Earthwork Site (Possible)'. The Wakeman Collection Catalogue, No. 30 (NMI) described fragments of a mortuary vessel which came from a Rath at Oldtown. This ’Rath' may have been located in a field known as 'Dun Hill' which was located beside the present Post Office. Locals described a low earthwork in this field which has since been levelled. The precise location of this earthwork site has not been identified but it was located in a field beside the Post Office which is marked on the OSi maps.
