The National Monuments Service's description
Rocque’s 1760 Map of County Dublin shows a ‘Pidgon House’ to the E of ‘The White Hart’ inn (DU005-054----). On this map the pigeon house or dovecote would be located in the present townland of Hampton Demesne (Rocque 1762). The first edition of the OSi 6-inch map shows a ‘Pigeon Ho.’ at this location. This dovecote is indicated or outlined on the revised editions of the OSi 6-inch map and is annotated ‘Pigeon House’ on the OSi 25-inch map, where it is shown as a small circular buildings on the demesne lands of Hampton Hall. Not visible on OSi aerial imagery.
