The National Monuments Service's description
Geophysical survey (Licence no. 06R0135) identified an area of burnt archaeological material in advance of proposed development. Test-excavation (Licence no. 06E0996) confirmed the presence of charcoal rich material containing heat-shattered stone exposed for at least 8m (Turrell 2006, 13).
