The National Monuments Service's description
Mass Rock at base of S facing low hillock on the floodplains of the Ballaghdoo River located immediately to the E. This monument consists of a flat slab (L 1m; Wth 0.6m; T 0.1m) resting on several support stones forming an altar structure which was 0.25m high above the ground. This slab is known locally as the mass rock (pers. comm. S O'Beirne). The faintest remains of incised lines can be traced on the surface of the mass rock and these appear to be forming a crude St. Brigid's Cross although this identification is not certain. The remains of an 18th century church known as the Spanish Church can be seen in the same field 70m to the NW of the mass rock.
