The National Monuments Service's description
A heap of stones seems to mark the site of the 'souterrain' recorded here (O. Davies). The feature was not strictly underground but built up against a rock bank. The remainder was formed of boulders. Two 'windows' looked out onto the stream which ran parallel to the passage which was 6ft long. The end of this had collapsed so that it may well have been longer. It was roofed with two large flagstones packed with smaller stones. The entrance was 1ft 7in high and 2ft wide. The site seems to have resembled St. Faned's Cell (DG080-024002-).
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
