The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diam. 24.3m NNE-SSW, 19.15m WNW-ESE. A single-banked enclosure is covered by a growth of bog which to an extent follows the form of the monument beneath. There is clear evidence of an external fosse also beneath the bog. The bog cover varies in depth from .92m in the interior, to .35m to .45m on the enclosing earthen bank, to .97m to 1.85m above the fosse, to .4m to .74m above the ground surrounding the site. The bank appears to be up to .78m in height and the fosse 2.9m in width. Probing beneath the bog revealed evidence for a possible causeway between the E and NE points where the base of the fosse appears to rise. The site is located on the crest of a NNE-SSW ridge in an area of gentle ridges with land varying from good grassland to bog.

The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983).
