The National Monuments Service's description
Described by Herity (1995, 92) as ‘a rectangular structure, its long axis facing north-west and 11.25m long. The lower courses arc reasonably well built, especially at the corners, suggesting that it began it existence as a rectangular dwelling house, probably in the post-medieval period. A rough rebuilding of the upper courses suggests that it was probably used as an animal pound and shelter in recent centuries.’ (Walsh 1983, 56, Fig. 19, No. 11)
