The National Monuments Service's description
A promontory defined by cliff edges on the NW half and by a curving largely collapsed stone wall to the SE. The original wall width is 2.2m. The outer facing survives in places up to 1.2m. The wall fades out to the E and there is slight evidence for an entrance c. 2m in width on the E side also. Two natural straight-sided, narrow rock crevices occur at the NW end of the promontory. They could have been roofed and used as souterrains. The interior is undulating. The site is located with a commanding view over Glencolumbkille valley on barren heather-covered land.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
