The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diam. c. 55m. An almost circular platform enclosed for most of its circumference by a low field bank and entirely surrounded by a wet ditch. A large number of stones can be seen in the ditch and along the edges of the platform. The site would appear to be a destroyed ringfort. There are possible indications of a double or stepped bank inside the ditch on the S side. Just NE of the centre of the platform is a recumbent oval stone (1.8m × 1.15m) rising 10 to 20 cms above the ground in which it is partially buried. Its long axis runs N-S. There is a report (NMI) of a 'bullaun cut in a rounded block of granite' (DG060-003002-) at the SW of this ringfort but this was not observed on this occasion. The site is located on the S side of Glendoon Hill with extensive views. The land is good if a little wet.

The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
