The National Monuments Service's description
Internal Dimensions 30m E-W and 24m N-S. Although shown on the maps as a circular feature, the site is now a D-shaped platform up to 2.5m above the surrounding land with a long sloping edge except on the N·side where it drops steeply 5m to the sea shore. It appears to have been interfered with in recent times. It has a level top and is set in good undulating land. There are extensive views over Lough Swilly and the adjacent tidal mud-flats.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
