The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 31.5m N-S and 37.5m NE-SW. An oval space defined on its N side by a stretch of earthen bank 2m high and an external fosse 3m wide. The S side is defined by a steep artificially raised platform edge up to 5m in height. Two large stones on the interior of the bank suggest that it was originally stone-faced. Part of the fosse is now used as a trackway. A 2m wide gap in the bank to the N is probably the original entrance as there is no fosse before it. The interior slopes N to S as does the external ground. There are extensive views. The land is covered by bushes.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
