The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. c. 50m. A circular area bounded by a much ruined earthen bank which seems to have been externally revetted with stone. This is still intact along a section to the SSE. On the N a short stretch of a shallow wet ditch might be the remains of a fosse. It is c. 1.5m wide. To the E and W this is incorporated in modern drains. The W side fronts onto a farmyard and the bank here has several gaps. The interior is grass-covered and retains the W to E downwards slope of the surrounding land. It is located in a prominent position on the steeply rising wettish ground on the W side of the Commane river valley.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
