The National Monuments Service's description

This feature, named 'Druid's Grave' on the original OS 6-inch map (1834-5), is a round cairn in which a large cist containing a human skeleton and two small pottery vessels were found in around 1830 (OS Name Book, 1834; Fagan 1845-8; Waddell 1990, 70).

A cairn c. 12m in diameter and 1m high is partly overgrown and disturbed. Turf cutting on the W side has revealed three revetment stones. An early report (Fagan Bk. 9, 6) records that an enclosed grave 6ft to 7ft in length made with stone slabs and covered by a slab 6ft 3in long was found in the 1830's. The cist contained pulverised earth and calcined bones. The cairn is located on a low rise in an area of blanket bog with a lot of rock outcrop.

The above description was published in the 'Survey of the Megalithic Tombs of Ireland. Volume VI, County Donegal.' Compiled by: Eamon Cody (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
