The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a 'Calluragh Burial Ground' on the 2nd and 3rd editions of the OS 6-inch maps. The site consists of an almost circular platform .5m to 1m high, c. 19m E-W and c. 17m N-S. Most of the perimeter is bounded by a grass-covered stone wall. This is missing in the SW quadrant and the platform edge defines the perimeter here. There is a 2m gap to the SE. At the centre is a mound c. 6m N-S and c. 4m E-W, up to 1m high. It seems to be mainly of stone. The site is located on level, slightly wet pasture.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
