The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. c. 20m. A very ruined cashel wall survives on a rocky platform. It originally enclosed a roughly circular area. The outer faces of some large stones up to c. 0.5m in height are visible on the W. From NW to NE the wall has been almost completely turfed over. It survives to a height of c. 1.5m on the NE. Quarrying of the S end of the platform seems to account for the absence of the wall here. The site on a grass-covered rocky knoll overlooks low-lying wet, grazing land to the S and drier land to the N.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
