The National Monuments Service's description
A natural opening in the ground covered by a lintel is known as an 'ague' well. It is located in the middle of forestry at the foot of a rock face.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
