The National Monuments Service's description
A grassed-over mound, subcircular in plan and meas-uring c. 11m NW-SE and c. 10m NE-SW, more or less flat-topped and about 1m high except to the NE where a U-shaped area is lower than the rest of the mound and measures c. 3m in overall width and c. 4m in radial length. In this depression four stones on edge, projecting slightly above the ground and forming part of three sides of a rectangle, seem to mark the position of a stone lined pit which measures .7m wide by at least 1m long. The mound has been very slightly disturbed on the W. At a few points around the base of the mound animals have loosened pieces of stone which appear to have been subjected to fire and which break easily. The site is in the bend of a stream. The ground is wet and marshy. To the N and S there are stretches of higher, drier land with good grazing. About 15m to the SE a low heap of loose stones may be the remains of another fulacht fiadh.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
