The National Monuments Service's description
Diam. 25m-30m. Marked as a single-ringed enclosure on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map. What remains is an inverted saucer-shaped platform, 2m in maximum height. It is not possible to say if this mound is artificial or natural or a combination of both. The souterrain, the existence of which is attested locally, is not visible. The site is on low-lying ground close to Rinclevan Strand. An artificially created 'New Lake' comes almost to the base of the mound on the S. There is good grazing available about the site today.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
