In the NW corner of a pasture field, on elevated ground at the NE edge of Doagh Island. The location has excellent views N and E over Trawbreaga Bay, with the long stretch of Malin peninsula beyond; to W ground rises gradually in a series of small hills and rocky peaks; higher hills and mountainous peaks form a dramatic distant backdrop at SW.
This boulder is one of a cluster of bedrock boulders protrude from a low grassy rise, now partly obscured by piles of loose field clearance stones. It rises to a height of c. 0.65m above ground level on its NW edge and slopes down into the ground at SE. The sloping SE-facing aspect (c. 1.4m NW-SE; c. 2m NE-SW) has a smooth fine-textured surface and bears a single possible cupmark -a circular smooth surfaced hollow (diam. c. 5cm) with a thin film of lichen- located roughly in the centre of its higher NW end. A few shallow subcircular dimples are evident elsewhere across the surface but these appear to be natural features.
Another panel of rock art (MA004-089001-) is located 2.8m to NW.
