The National Monuments Service's description
An irregularly shaped area 31.3m E-W and 23m N-S is marked as 'St. Buchan's Burial Ground for Children' (DG004-048001-) on the 2nd and 3rd editions of the OS 6-inch maps. At its highest point there is a small cairn (DG004-048002-) with an upright slab and there are several other grave markers. To the SW of the Burial Ground but in the adjoining field is a standing stone marked 'Cloghtogle' (DG004-048003-) on the 3rd edition of the OS 6-inch map. It is 1.98m high by .55m wide with a large inscribed cross on the W face. A much smaller cross is placed to the N of the base of the large cross and beneath this are two small circular depressions. The site is located on ground sloping to the shore of the channel between the Isle of Doagh and Inishowen.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983).
