The National Monuments Service's description
On the S slopes of Knockroe Mountain, in the Blackstairs mountain range. Identified as formerly part of a 19th-century system of long fields running roughly N-S down the mountains slope. This upper portion of fields has subsequently returned to open mountain grazing.
