The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Two wells with drystone surrounds, about 20m apart. Well to S under roots of tree, now cut down. Tree rings indicate tree planted c. 140 years ago. The 1839 'OS 6-inch' map shows building, probably farm-yard, on site. Foundation courses of haggards visible. According to local information, site of monastery. O'Donovan records that 'patron' held here until 1798 but date unknown (OSL 1839, 119). (JKAS 1933, 245).
