The National Monuments Service's description
Shown on 1839 'OS 6-inch' map as circular enclosure (max. diam. c. 35m). No visible surface traces. Possibly a ringfort.
Archaeological testing carried out 25m away by Coilín Ó Drisceoil in 2005 (Ó Drisceoil, 2008 p. 25) as part of a single house development failed to reveal anything of archaeological signicance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
