The National Monuments Service's description

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of revision: 22 December 2009
Revised by: J. Farrelly

Present remains consist of E portion of rectangular structure (min. L 5m; Wth 4.7m) of roughly coursed granite boulders, with some dressed granite quoins. Chancel is built on steep E-facing slope. Several quoins and a granite moulded window jamb are in use as grave markers; window jamb incorporated in stile at SW corner of graveyard (CW013-070002-). Quoins suggest fifteenth- or sixteenth-century date. Recent renovations of E gable and portion of N wall. Distinct curve in road, suggesting former circular enclosure.
