The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007
Down Survey recorded castle ('out of repaire') here in 1650. Probably sited on or in the immediate vicinity of Kilknock House which stands on slight rise. Large walled garden to S of house may be on line of former bawn. The exact location of the castle is unknown.
