The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Circular area (diam. 44m) surrounded by earthen bank with external fosse. Original entrance not identifiable. Low earthen bank running from bank at N into interior towards SW may be original. Situated on slope, bank and fosse well-defined upslope, negligible downslope.
