The National Monuments Service's description
This is a granite stone (H 0.78M; Wth 0.3m; T 0.22m) with a very weathered ogham inscription on the lower part of the SE corner and possible faint traces of a cross on the W face. Macalister (1945, 18, no. 15) suggests that his reading . . . RENI may be the end of a name such as MAQI-TRENI. Harbison (1991, 181, No. 11) noted a possible second ogham stone (see CW009-028010-), now lost, at Clonmore. (Brindley and Kilfeather 1993, pp 54-5)
This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. To access details go to the following website:
