The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Aerial photographs (CUCAP AYL 29, 30) show cropmark of fosse enclosing approximately square area (max. dims. c. 25m x 25m) with indications of entrance in middle of S side. Cropmarks of rectangular fields in vicinity (CW008-052002-). Adjacent to enclosure site (CW008-040----). No visible surface traces. Probably a moated site.
