The National Monuments Service's description
Partially excavated in advance of construction of the N9/N10 Kilcullen-Waterford Road (Excavation Licence number E2592), a shallow, irregular-shaped mound (L 17.5m; Wth 17m) of loose black silt clay and heat-shattered limestone and sandstone. An irregular shaped well/spring (L 8m; Wth 6m; D 1.7m) was located under it. Six troughs and six small pits were also identified. No finds were recovered. (Hughs J. 2009, 49)
