The National Monuments Service's description
The Patent Rolls of James I, 26th January 1612 record a 'Grant from the king, James I, to Sir Charles Wilmott, of the castle, town and lands of Chapelstown' (Clarke 1990-1, 24). The precise location of the castle within the townland is unknown.
