The National Monuments Service's description
The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007
Shown on 1839 and 1906 'OS 6-inch' maps as circular enclosure. Aerial photographs (CUCAP AVL 90-1; BDH 80-1) show circular area defined by cropmarks of bank with external fosse and causeway at NW. Visible after ploughing as slightly raised area (diam. c. 40m, H c. 0.3m) of slightly darker, stonier soil. Possibly a ringfort.
