The National Monuments Service's description
This site, an obvious fulacht fiadh, was located on rising ground 5m from a stream. It comprised an irregular spread of charcoal and burnt sandstone and measured 7m by 15m. A smaller, isolated spread (2m x 3m) was located 2m to the S and may be part of the same site.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
