The National Monuments Service's description
Subrectangular island (dims. c.90m NNW-SSE; c. 40m WNW-ESE) in Lough Ramor, c. 37m from the shoreline. Davies (ITA Survey 1940) described the island perimeter as a rock-strewn beach with the central mound rising about 3m above the water-level of the lake.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
