The National Monuments Service's description

Raised circular area (int. diam. 33m) enclosed by a low, much-denuded earthen bank. Two earthen banks extend outside the scarp from ESE-N-NNE. These are later features probably dating to the period in which the site was transformed into a tree-ring. A modern field boundary extends outside the scarp from NNE-E-ESE. Original entrance not recognisable. Possible remains of a souterrain (CV038-062002-)in the internal area.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
