The National Monuments Service's description
Raised oval area (int. dims. 47m N-S; 36.5m E-W) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank, badly denuded from S-W-NW, and a wide, shallow, partly waterlogged, infilled fosse. A modern field boundary encroaches on the bank at NW. Original entrance may be represented by break in the bank at N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
