The National Monuments Service's description
According to Davies (1948, 73-77) there was a church site here. However, he does not specify whether the townland in question is Tirlahode Lower or Upper, in the Parish of Larah. It is apparently mentioned in documents of the late 16th and early 17th centuries.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
