The National Monuments Service's description
Houses of ‘lime and stone’ were being built in the town in the early seventeenth century. The inn of Hamnet or Hamlet Steele is mentioned in 1639 (Hunter 1971, 71). It precise location is not known, but it was undoubtedly on the Main Street. (Bradley and Dunne 1989, 41)
