The National Monuments Service's description

A watermill at Cavan town had been built by Bernard McBrady by 1558 (MacNiocaill 1959) and it was still extant according to an inquisition of 1601 (Hunter 1971, 68). Its precise location is not known but it would have been on the course of the S-N Cavan River within the town. (Bradley and Dunne 1989, 42-3)
