The National Monuments Service's description

Formerly situated on a low, isolated, rocky hillock overlooking a tributary of the Annalee River. Apparently an O'Reilly castle built c. 1450, which became the most important stronghold in Tullygarvey barony in the late 16th century. Following the Plantation, it became the centre of the Moore Manor. No visible remains at ground level. (Davies 1948a, 99)
