The National Monuments Service's description
Raised circular area (int. dims. 50m WNW-ESE; 48.3m NNE-SSW) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. From WNW-E-SSW the fosse has been infilled and survives only as a slight depression. Original entrance not recognisable.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
