The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on all OS eds. Situated adjacent to a stream. Small oval drystone-built structure (H 1.6m; int. dims. 2.4m NW-SE; 1.5m NE-SW) of beehive-type construction, roofed internally by a flat slab. Partly built into a hillside at SE. Lintelled entrance at NE (H 0.7m; Wth 0.5m). Richardson (1939, 34) recorded 'a flue on each side of it'.
