The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in the S part of the subrectangular Carricknacrannoge Lough (max. dims c. 285m N-S; c. 245m E-W), c. 60m from the S shore and c. 80m from the W shore. A small island (diam. c. 10m) is depicted on the 1835 and 1908 editions of the OS 6-inch map, and it is also on the current 1:5000 map where it is shown as a larger feature (diam. c. 17m). It is visible as a tree-covered feature on the aerial images, and it was first reported by Anne-Karoline Distel but has not yet been visited.
